Arvind Magesan

Arvind Magesan is a Professor of Economics at University of Calgary. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Toronto. His research combines political economy and industrial organization to study elections, candidate selection, and political institutions, with a particular focus on how incentives shape political behavior and outcomes, including the role of conflict and violence in electoral settings. His work has been published in leading journals, including Review of Economic Studies, American Political Science Review, and American Economic Journal: Economic Policy.
