Dr. Hanan Hammad Publishes New Translation of Latest Book

Dr. Hanan Hammad, Arab American Educational Foundation Chair in Modern Arab History and Director of the AAEF Center of Arab Studies, has published a translation of her 2022 monograph from Stanford University Press. The Arabic translation of Unknown Past: Layla Murad, the Jewish Muslim Star of Egypt came out last month from Al Kotob Khan, one of the leading independent publishers in the Arab world. Dr. Hammad worked with translator and writer Basma Nagy on this publication. The book was the publisher’s bestseller at the Cairo Book Fair.
