Why Become a Fellow?
Fellows can list their selection for and participation in the program on their resume or CV.
Fellows will get the opportunity for intellectual engagement with peers and faculty in an environment that is less formal and structured than a classroom. Because everyone was invited to be there, the conversations can be more advanced.
Students will make personal connections with faculty members who might serve as research mentors (for instance, for SURF, PURS, or Frameworks) and graduate school recommendation writers.
Fellows will have a cocurricular opportunity to explore Jewish Studies topics, especially those of timely and vital interest, in a supportive academic environment.
Successful contributions as a fellow will make students eligible for the Excellence in Jewish Studies award, which carries a monetary scholarship.
