Division of Student Affairs Welcomes Chelsea Blake as Associate Director of the Cougar Parent and Family Engagement Center

The Division of Student Affairs proudly welcomes Ms. Chelsea Blake to the University of Houston as the new associate director for the Cougar Parent and Family Engagement Center. Chelsea joins the university with a distinguished background in student engagement, program development, and equity-focused initiatives, bringing a strong commitment to fostering meaningful connections between students, families, and supporters.

In her new role, Chelsea will lead efforts to strengthen family partnerships, enhance communication, and outreach strategies, and expand inclusive programming designed to support students and their families throughout the cougar journey. Her work will focus on creating accessible, supportive, and engaging experiences that empower families to play an active role in student success.

Chelsea brings extensive expertise in student access, advising, assessment, and higher education programming. She holds a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science from Texas Women’s College. Her professional experience reflects a consistent dedication to advancing student success and building supportive campus communities.

Prior to joining the University of Houston, Chelsea served at Rice University, where she held leadership roles supporting first-generation and limited-income student initiatives, as well as student success programming. Through her work, she demonstrated a deep understanding of the challenges students and families face and developed impactful strategies to promote academic achievement and belonging.

“I’m excited to step into the associate director role for the Cougar Parent and Family Engagement Center and continue strengthening meaningful partnerships with families and supporters,” Chelsea shared. “My work has always centered on building trust, increasing access to resources, and creating spaces where families feel informed, valued, and connected to their students’ success. I look forward to expanding programs and initiatives that support families throughout their entire Cougar journey.”

Chelsea’s arrival marks an important step forward for the Cougar Parent and Family Engagement Center. Her leadership, insight, and passion for student success will help further elevate the center’s mission of supporting families as essential partners in the university experience.
