The Minor In-House Construction shop recently debuted a new paint booth. The shop, also known as MIC (pronounced “Mick”), works on small to medium sized construction projects, anything from moving walls, building out laboratories, creating new offices, refreshing or remodeling entire classrooms and office suites, and much more.
Gabriel McLemore, assistant director of MIC, shared more about the paint booth project and its purpose.
Tell us about the transformation of the booth space.
GM: The space was formerly a storage location, and with funding we were able to wall it off completely, install better lighting, and install an exhaust fan.
What does the booth mean to you and your team?
GM: We do a lot of painting and laminating work here at the shop. The fumes from this have always been a problem, so we built the booth to help keep paint and glue fumes out of the shop and offices. The booth has made a huge difference in the indoor air quality and working conditions.
Facilities Construction/Management celebrates the MIC team’s well-earned success in building the paint booth. Keep up the fantastic work!
