Julian Beatty, President

My name is Julian Beatty, and I am a sixth-year Ph.D. student in Finance. My research uses econometric and statistical methods to forecast and quantify financial risk and contagion in energy markets. Outside of my research, I have held leadership roles as Financial Director and Vice President of GPSA in 2025 and currently serve as Treasurer of the Sigma Pi Fraternity. These leadership roles have taught me the importance of proactively engaging with your constituents, and using your own passion to inspire and support others.

My goal as President is to ensure that the University of Houston offers the best graduate student life in Texas. To achieve this, I am focused on strengthening our campus presence by hosting more social events, fostering stronger connections with our alumni network, and continuing to advocate for the needs and interests of graduate students across the university.
