Brandi Becoats, Event Planning Director
I am Brandi BeCoats, a fifth year Ph.D. candidate in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Houston and speech-language pathologist. My research focuses on stroke and aphasia rehabilitation, clinical education, and implementation sciences. Through my work at UH, I collaborate with students, clinicians, community members, and researchers to develop programs and resources that support communication, participation, and quality of life for individuals with communication disorders.
In addition to my academic and clinical work, I have organized numerous student, professional, and community engagement events, including educational workshops, networking opportunities, and community outreach programs. As Event Planning Director for the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA), I am committed to creating meaningful events that foster professional development and a strong sense of community among graduate and professional students. My goal is to ensure that students across all disciplines have opportunities to build relationships, celebrate achievements, and engage with the broader University of Houston community.
