Alejandro Quijano is the program director and Community Health Worker instructor for the University of Houston Community Health Workers Initiative. They lead efforts to equip community health workers with the knowledge, skills and support needed to build healthier, stronger communities. With a background in public health and psychology, and more than four years of experience in program development and community-based initiatives, Alejandro oversees curriculum design, instructor training and partnerships with health systems, educational institutions and local organizations. They are committed to providing accessible, locally responsive and strengths-based education that prepares community health workers to improve health outcomes and succeed in their roles.
