Grand Challenges Forum
The New Grand Challenges Forum encourages students to think critically, discuss openly
and learn unequivocally. The New Grand Challenges Forum offers students, faculty,
staff, alumni and members of the local community a time to hear a wide range of lectures
dedicated to a compelling theme. Fridays from 1-2 p.m. in the Honors College Commons.

Student Worker Opportunity: Learning Abroad Office
The Learning Abroad Office at the University of Houston invites applications for a Student Worker position for the upcoming academic year. We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented students with a strong interest in global education, student engagement, and professional growth. This position provides a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the advancement of global learning while developing skills in program management, student support, marketing, and intercultural communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise and support students throughout the study abroad process
- Mentor and collaborate with our student leadership team, the Global Guides
- Design and develop marketing materials to promote global programs
Assist with planning and implementing events, outreach initiatives, and pre-departure programming - Strengthen skills in cross-cultural communication, public speaking, and leadership
We welcome applicants from all academic backgrounds, especially those with experience
or interest in international education, student affairs, higher education, or communications.
This position is ideal for students seeking to enhance their professional portfolio
while contributing to an inclusive, globally engaged campus community.

TEACH Fellowship in Taiwan - AICEE Taiwan
The TEACH Fellowship, an initiative by the Association of International Cultural and
Educational Exchange Taiwan (AICEE), invites certified/licensed K-12 teachers to teach
in Taiwan for one academic year (11 months) to create an immersed bilingual and cultural
learning environment for Taiwanese students and to enhance cultural and educational
exchanges between Taiwan and the world. Applicants must be native English speakers,
citizens of either the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, or New Zealand, have
a master's degree or bachelor's degree with two years of general work experience, a state teaching license
or a year of experience teaching K-12 with a degree in education, English, or related

2026 Schwarzman Scholars
Schwarzman Scholars is a fully-funded, one-year master's degree and leadership program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. The curriculum is focused on three multidisciplinary pillars: Leadership, China, and Global Affairs. Once completed, all Scholars receive a Master's Degree in Global Affairs. Schwarzman Scholars receive a world-class education through interactions with foreign ministers, political leaders, cultural luminaries, and entrepreneurs. Eligible applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in any field by August 2026, be 18-28 years of age, and possess English proficiency. Submission Deadline is September 10, 2025 at 2 p.m. CST. 2026-2027 Luce Scholars Program
The Luce Scholars Program is a yearlong opportunity for emerging leaders to deepen their ties and understanding of Asia's countries, cultures, and people. The 13-month-long program provides stipends, language training, and individualized professional placement in Northeast, Southeast, or South Asia. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and graduating seniors, recent graduates, or young professionals. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have earned a bachelor's degree or its equivalent by the start of the Luce Scholars orientation in late June. Submission Deadline: September 15, 2025.
