In December 2025, the University of Houston, Department of Mathematics hosted the CBMS Conference, “Research at the Interface of Applied Mathematics and Machine Learning” (CBMS-AMML). Supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the conference focused on advancing early-career researcher engagement with foundational and emerging topics in mathematics and artificial intelligence (AI).
Attendance exceeded 100 participants, representing academia, national laboratories, the medical sector, and industry.
