Academic Excellence Workshops
Workshop classes, with a small class size, support students enrolled in gateway science and mathematics courses, such as calculus, chemistry, and physics. Students are encouraged to collaborate in small groups as they work on daily assignments, challenging supplemental worksheets, and mock exams.
Integrated into these workshop sessions are strategies on how to learn, what to learn, note taking, test preparation, and other elements essential for success.
SEP Workshops provide a relaxed atmosphere in a supportive environment with experienced peer instructors who take a special interest in their students’ success. SEP serves over 700 students through workshops each semester and is one of the most academically diverse Peer-Led Team Learning programs in the nation.
Workshop Registration
Workshop registration can be completed through MyUH. Workshop registration will follow the University of Houston enrollment timetable and deadlines.
Workshop Enrollment Guidelines
You must be enrolled in the "Associated Lecture Class Number" in order to enroll in the workshop. All workshops run with specific professors except courses marked on the Workhop Schedule with an asterisk(*); these workshops do not require specific professors. Review the workshop schedule to make sure you are taking the correct lecture prior to requesting a workshop; students not in the correct lecture (if required) will not be enrolled in the workshop.
