    PREMIER Center Appoints Rinker, Tatar to New Assistant Director Roles

    UHCOP's Prescription Drug Misuse Education and Research (PREMIER) Center has appointed two faculty members to new assistant director roles designed to strengthen and expand the center’s multidisciplinary research capabilities. Dipali V. Rinker, Ph.D., LPC, research assistant professor, and Moosa Tatar, Ph.D., assistant professor, have been named assistant directors for Interventional and Behavioral Sciences, and Decision Science and Modeling, respectively.

    UHCOP Welcomes Ambulatory Care Specialist Demi Martinez to PPTR Faculty

    UHCOP welcomes alumna Demi Martinez, Pharm.D. (’19), BCACP, as clinical assistant professor, bringing expertise in ambulatory care, chronic disease management and improving health outcomes for underserved communities. At Vecino's Denver Harbor Family Health Center, her patient-centered approach and Spanish-language fluency help her connect with diverse patient populations, build trust and address barriers to healthcare.

    AAPP Chapter Earns Inaugural Chapter of the Year Award

    The UHCOP chapter of the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP) has been named the inaugural 2026 AAPP Collegiate Chapter of the Year, recognizing its work in psychiatric pharmacy education, mental health outreach, community service and professional development. The chapter also earned an honorable mention for Outstanding Chapter Activity for its student-led Seizure First Aid Training initiative, which provided evidence-based education to more than 150 University of Houston students, faculty and staff.
