UHCOP Confers 121 Professional, Graduate Degrees

2023-24 Academic Year Graduates, Class of 1974 Golden Cougars Honored at May Commencement

The May 2024 Commencement featured 105 Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) graduates from the 2023-24 academic year. 

The University of Houston College of Pharmacy conferred degrees to 121 Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master of Science (M.S.) program graduates at the 2024 Commencement May 9 at Cullen Performance Hall.

The ceremony recognized 105 Pharm.D., 10 Ph.D. and six M.S. program graduates of the 2023-24 academic year. Among those recognized with academic honors for cumulative grade point average (GPA) were 14 who achieved Summa Cum Laude (3.9-4.0 GPA), 15 who achieved Magna Cum Laude (3.7-3.89 GPA), and 35 who achieved Cum Laude (3.5-3.69 GPA). Among the Summa Cum Laude honorees were five graduating students who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA and served as the college banner bearers for the ceremony.

In addition, among the graduates were 23 members of the Rho Chi Honor Society and 13 members of the Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society.

During the ceremony, the college also recognized its Class of 1974 Golden Cougars on their milestone 50th anniversary of graduating from UHCOP.

This year's Student Response was delivered by Adam Siddique, who had served as president of the UH Pharmacy Council and as a member of the Dean's Student Advisory Council among his many accomplishments during his four years in the Pharm.D. program.
