After its run of six consecutive Southwest Province (SWP) Chapter of the Year wins ended in 2023, the Delta Delta Chapter recently celebrated reclaiming the title at the 2025 SWP Spring Assembly March 7-9 in Fort Worth.

Among the activities for which the chapter was recognized were:

  • Participation in nine health fairs and other health-focused events, with members providing wellness screenings and education on topics ranging from kidney disease and ovarian cancer to diabetes and stroke
  • Fundraisers and drives — including the time-honored Mr. Pharmacy pageant — for various nonprofit organizations, such as Reach Out and Read!, Gano Mission Center, Nora's Home, Doctors Without Borders, and The Bear Foundation of Houston, to support communities on a local and global scale
  • Volunteer projects such as sorting and boxing pantry items at the Houston Food Bank and writing encouragement cards to pediatric patients at Texas Children's Hospital
  • Alumni-student socials, such as a barbecue and casino night, to show gratitude and encourage networking and engagement
  • Inter-fraternal events with other Kappa Psi Southwest Province chapters to foster brotherhood and interaction

In individual honors, chapter members Michael Crichlow and Emetu Umah were elected as the province's Chaplain and Webmaster, respectively.

Delta Delta's previous Province Chapter of the Year record ran consecutively from 2015 to 2022.
