Provost's Message: Academic Outlook 2026 - An Update on Recent Initiatives & Milestones

Diane Z. Chase, UH Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost

Dear Colleagues,

I hope you are having a productive spring semester.

While this is a busy time of year for everyone, I hope you will join me next week for my reenvisioned annual address: the Provost’s Academic Outlook. The event begins at 3 p.m. on April 15 in the UH Alumni Center’s O’Quinn Great Hall, followed by food and fellowship at 4 p.m..

During this event, I will offer updates on key academic initiatives and share insights into how the Office of the Provost is working to support your efforts across the University. This is not only an opportunity to hear about our collective work toward institutional success, but also a chance to celebrate the significant achievements of your peers and students.

If you have not already done so, please RSVP via the invitation sent previously to help us finalize arrangements.
Speaking of success, this installment of the Academic Update newsletter spotlights recent faculty and student honors. We celebrate the 2025 President’s Circle Awards and the 10th anniversary of UH’s Phi Beta Kappa chapter. This edition also shares details on the latest AI tools available to the UH community.

I know you are working hard to help our Coogs cross the finish line during these final weeks of the semester. Your dedication makes a profound difference for our students and the University.

Thank you for all that you do. I look forward to seeing you next week!

Sincerely,
Diane Z. Chase
