Academic Honesty Policy
High ethical standards are critical to the integrity of any institution, and bear
directly on the ultimate value of conferred degrees.
Attempted Hours and the Official Reporting Day (ORD)
Any credit hours in which you are enrolled after ORD are identified as attempted
hours.
Dropping and Withdrawing from Course Enrollment
Undergraduate Students are expected to commit themselves to courses as early as possible
in order to succeed in their courses.
Excused Absence
Regular class attendance, participation, and engagement in coursework are important
contributors to student success.
Grade Exclusion
Students who earn a D+ or lower in a course during their first year UH may repeat
the course within 12 months and exclude the original grade from their cumulative GPA.
Late Withdrawal for Medical/Emergency Reasons
If it is AFTER the posted semester withdrawal deadline, students may seek late withdrawal
under qualified, documented medical or emergency reasons.
6-Ws Limit
The six 'W' grades may be used at any time during a student's undergraduate career
at UH to drop a course up through the last day to drop a course or withdraw from all
courses deadline.
Religious Holy Days
Under UH policy a student may be excused without penalty if his or her religious
observances conflict with scheduled class meetings, assignments, and/or examinations.
The student remains responsible for completing any needed make-up work. An instructor
may not deny the opportunity for make-up work, but shall otherwise treat these absences
as any other excused absence.

time in a Texas public institution of higher education in Fall 1999 or later may be
charged a premium tuition rate after they reach an established enrollment cap.
Three-peat Rule
Texas-resident undergraduate students who attempt a course with the same content
for a third or more times will be charged a premium tuition rate for those credit
hours.
