Keck Foundation
The Keck Foundation strives to fund endeavors that are distinctive and novel in their approach. It encourages projects that are high-risk with the potential for transformative impact. "High-risk" comprises several factors, including questions that push the edge of the field, present unconventional approaches to intractable problems, or challenge the prevailing paradigm.

Limited Submission Announcement
The DOR limited submission application is due 6-8 weeks before the Keck Foundation proposal deadline.
PI should prepare a single-page concept paper on a project that covers a diversity of science.
Single-page concept paper should include:
- Page, Overview, Methodologies, Key Personnel, Justification for Keck Support, Estimated Budget by major areas.
Review
Internal Review
The AVP/AVC for Research along with college ADRs, will review all limited submission
applications.
- Up to THREE applications from each research area will be selected by the review committee to move forward in the process.
Full Proposal
DOR administration and the Director of UH Foundation Relations will assist in the submission of the full application:
- Proposal - instructions and templates on the W.M. Keck Foundation webpage
- Recognition Statement
- Biographical Sketches for all key personnel
- Collaborative Agreements (if applicable)
- Project Budget
- Budget Justification
- Capital Equipment Quotes (if applicable)
- Other Support
- Suggested Referees - Five knowledgeable experts who can review the project
- Governing Board - Concise list of members of the institution's governing board
Proposal submissions are due:
- Second Monday after Thanksgiving by 4:30pm PT
- First Monday after Memorial Day by 4:30pm PT
