Summer at Moody Towers Dining Commons may bring a shift in rhythm compared to the
bustling fall and spring semesters, but it’s far from slow. The dining hall remains
a vibrant hub, serving a steady stream of University of Houston visitors, faculty,
staff, and students throughout the season.
On average, Moody Towers Dining Commons welcomes nearly 600 guests every day during
lunch hours this summer. These guests include students taking summer classes, camp
participants, and new student conference attendees, many of whom spend as much as
90 minutes in the dining commons enjoying their meals and the welcoming atmosphere.
That feedback includes compliments from RAs, enthusiastic messages from orientation
participants, and even a handwritten thank-you note recognizing the hospitality and
service provided at Moody.
Traditional favorites like chicken tenders, pizza, and mac & cheese remained popular among younger campers, while new international dishes gave future Coogs a taste of the global culinary offerings available on campus.
Beyond the food, the dining commons created a lively and welcoming environment with resource tables for new students and residents, and even a resident DJ to keep the energy high.
