Dr. Karen Jubert is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and National Board Certified Counselor. She has more than 20 years of experience working with diverse individuals in higher education, corporate, community, and private mental health agency settings, including 15 years with UH System. Dr. Jubert is a career transitioner (from mechanical engineering to counseling) and she is energized by helping individuals experiencing stressors associated with career decisions, performance anxiety, emotion regulation, impostor syndrome, self-confidence, cultural identity, life transitions, and navigating change. Dr. Jubert also specializes in supporting and empowering Houston’s LGBTQ+ community, persons living with chronic health conditions, individuals struggling with addiction, and students experiencing grief/loss, depression, and family/friendship/relationship challenges. She enjoys sharing community resources, supervising counseling students, mentoring new clinicians and conducting presentations on mental health and wellness topics.

 

Dr. Jubert utilizes a strengths-based, relational, collaborative, empathic approach to counseling and strives to create a safe, supportive, inclusive space for all students. She delights in cooking her favorite Cajun/creole dishes, being in nature, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
