Elaine M. Liu

Elaine M. Liu is the Bernard B. and Eugenia A. Ramsey Chair and Professor of Economics at Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, where she also serves as a Faculty Director of the Georgia Policy Labs.
She earned her B.A. from Wellesley College and her Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton
University, and previously taught at the University of Houston. An applied microeconomist,
Dr. Liu uses rigorous and innovative methods to explore topics at the intersection
of health, behavioral, and development economics. Her research has been published
in leading journals, including Review of Economic Studies, Review of Economics and
Statistics, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
