Genesis Rivas-Ponce

Genesis Rivas-Ponce (she/her/ella) serves as the Assistant Director for the Cougar Cupboard. In her role, she enjoys the fast-paced, problem-solving nature of the work and values the opportunity to connect with students regularly.
As Assistant Director, Genesis focuses on expanding services and enhancing the Cougar Cupboard's overall impact. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Genesis earned her Master of Public Health in Community Health Practice from UTHealth Science Center at Houston in 2020 and her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Houston Baptist University in 2017.
Genesis is the proud daughter of Salvadoran immigrants and a first-generation American. She was born in Boston, MA, but has lived in the Houston area since she was 3 and is very much a Houstonian. She is currently studying for the MCAT! When she does have free time, she enjoys hunting for Smikis or Pokémon cards, junk journaling, crocheting wearables and homewares, and hanging out with her partner, fur babies, mom, and brother.
