Coursework Specialist in School Psychology

A minimum of 63 semester credit hours (SCH) is required for completion of the Specialist in School Psychology program.

The recommended plan of study is typically completed over three years. Program requirements include coursework, practicum, internship, and successful completion of the Praxis II Licensure Exam and the Texas Jurisprudence Exam, which are typically completed in the final year.

Courses are delivered in online, face-to-face, and hybrid formats. Face-to-face courses are offered at the UH Katy Campus, while hybrid courses allow students to attend in person at either the UH Main Campus or UH Katy Campus, with classrooms connected via live video  instruction. Several courses are offered fully online. Internship coursework in Year 3 is delivered online and includes required synchronous experiential components, such as live supervision, scheduled meetings, and applied field-based practice completed in school settings.
