Sanseeahray (San) Burnett

Sanseeahray (San) Burnett is a global executive leader in operational risk management, workplace health and safety, and process safety with more than 30 years of experience supporting high-risk operations across the energy, infrastructure, industrial, and capital-intensive investment sectors.

Ms. Burnett currently serves as Managing Director, Americas, for Macquarie Asset Management, where she leads Workplace Health and Safety strategy and governance across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, transportation, utilities, energy, industrial, and renewable investments throughout North and South America. In this role, she advises executive leadership teams, boards of directors, and investment committees on operational risk, organizational resilience, regulatory compliance, and value protection throughout the investment lifecycle.

Her expertise spans operational risk governance, process safety management, major accident prevention, critical risk management, organizational culture, mergers and acquisitions due diligence, and investment risk oversight. Throughout her career, she has successfully led regional and global initiatives designed to strengthen governance systems, improve operational performance, reduce risk exposure, and enhance long-term enterprise value.

Prior to joining Macquarie Asset Management, Ms. Burnett held leadership positions with Woodside Energy, BHP, Anadarko Petroleum, and global risk consulting organizations, where she provided strategic leadership for offshore and onshore operations, drilling and completions, process safety, operational excellence, and enterprise risk management across global operations.

A recognized industry thought leader, Ms. Burnett previously served as Chair of the Gulf Offshore Energy Safety Board (GOES) for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and as Topical Chair for the AIChE Global Congress on Process Safety. She remains an active supporter of the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) and is passionate about advancing industry best practices and thought innovation in process safety, operational risk management, and organizational learning.

Her experience working across operating companies, global engineering organizations, and institutional investment firms provides a unique perspective on the integration of operational risk management, governance, and business performance. She is particularly recognized for translating complex technical and operational risks into actionable insights for executives, boards, and investors.
