2025 in Argentina: Sustainability and Policy in the Energy Transition
This year’s Argentina Learning Abroad Program offered students a 2-week immersive experience focused on one of the most urgent global challenges: the transition to sustainable energy.
Students explored Argentina’s energy systems from the ground up—visiting natural gas extraction sites, renewable energy facilities, and community-scale sustainability projects. They engaged with industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and local communities, gaining a 360° view of how energy, economics, and society intersect.
“The most impactful aspect was observing how energy systems are integrated across technical, economic, and social domains in Argentina. Seeing the full chain—from Vaca Muerta to community solar—highlighted the complexity of energy transition in a real-world setting.”
— Dr. Mim Rahimi, Assistant Professor, Environmental Engineering
