Calling for Move-in Volunteers | June 17, 2026

The 2026 Move-in season is almost here! As we prepare, we are inviting you, your team, department, or organization to volunteer and make the incoming students feel at home.

We are looking for volunteers to be part of Cougar Movers and Traffic Committee. Cougar Movers will help students from Wednesday, Aug. 19 - Saturday, Aug. 22, to load and unload move-in carts, and the Traffic Committee will help set up outdoor signage and flag set-up from Monday, Aug. 17 - Tuesday, Aug. 18.

All volunteers will receive a Student Housing and Residential Life t-shirt and event training. We will help you prepare and be ready for the big day. To get ahead, visit our Move-in page to see what the experience is like for the students and their supporters.

Take part in impacting the lives of first-year and returning Coogs and their supporters. Click the button to sign up for a volunteer shift.

As we get closer to move-in, we will share information about training sessions, parking and all other important updates.

Get ready for room assignments | July 1, 2026

Good afternoon,

We are excited to welcome you to the University of Houston on-campus housing!
On Wednesday, July 15, we will be releasing room assignments; you will see what hall you were placed in and your roommate. You can see full details on your myHousing portal via AccessUH.

On Monday, July 20, Move-in Time Selection opens via the myHousing portal. This means that you can select what day and time you would like to officially move-in to your residence hall to be ready for the start of the fall semester. Keep an eye out for your UH Email to see full details.
