The Art of Welcome is an LLC that offers residential academic experiences for students who wish to lead through shared experiences in living and learning hospitably. It is a space where you can become the kind of leader the world needs. This is where living and learning come together, where everyday moments turn into opportunities to grow, connect and lead with a purpose.

You learn to lead with empathy, serve with passion and build relationships that matter. You’ll bring the classroom into real life and real life into the classroom to shape how you collaborate, communicate and care for others. Along the way, you develop a hospitality mindset and leadership spirit that will guide you far beyond campus into your career, your communities and your future.

Why Should I Join this LLC? 

The Art of Welcome LLC will create a blueprint for the development of a hospitality mindset: a blend of transferable, human-centered skills that allow leaders to create positive, meaningful and memorable experiences.

Many companies are shifting their focus as they recognize that today’s competitive advantage arises from designing memorable, emotionally relevant experiences rather than merely selling products, providing services or resolving customer service issues. This shift positions hospitality as a strategic mindset for differentiation and ultimately loyalty. As a result, hospitality skills such as active listening, empathy, problem-solving, personalization and relationship management, are becoming important transferable skills in today’s workplace, regardless of academic major. This approach benefits students in majors beyond hospitality, as they will ultimately work in professional environments characterized by corporate hierarchies, interdepartmental collaboration and most importantly, customer-facing roles where hospitality will generate substantial value.

Where Will I Live? 

This community is part of Cougar Village. You will live in a 2-bedroom suite with two students per furnished bedroom and a private bathroom per suite. Other amenities include:

• Mini fridges in room
• Floor kitchens
• High-speed internet
• Study rooms
• Outdoor living room
• Cougar Village Market (convenience store) and
• Adjacent to Moody Towers Dining Hall

Eligibility Requirements  

• Freshmen Global Hospitality Leadership (GHL) majors, or students from any other majors who are interested in learning to become effective leaders.
