A feedback-first forum connecting UH-affiliated innovators with experienced investors and mentors. Quarterly, invite-only sessions hosted at the Innovation Center Alumni Lounge.

Program Purpose

Investor Insights creates a trusted setting for founders and research-driven teams to present progress, pressure‑test market fit, and receive actionable guidance from seasoned investors and domain mentors. The emphasis is on data-driven feedback, relationships, and next steps—not immediate investment.

Who Should Participate

Eligibility (UH-Affiliated):

  • Teams with IP filed through the UH Technology Transfer Office
  • Innov8 Hub graduates
  • Graduates of other accredited accelerator or incubator programs

These sessions welcome startups and project teams that seek rigorous feedback to accelerate commercialization.

Note: Sessions are by invitation only to preserve quality interaction and confidentiality.

What to Expect

  • Investor & Mentor Feedback: Structured discussion focused on clarity of problem–solution fit, customer discovery, and milestones.
  • Advisor Network Access: Warm introductions and ongoing check‑ins may follow when appropriate.
  • Actionable Next Steps: Recommendations you can apply right away (e.g., validation tasks, partnership targets, grant readiness).

Our Investor & Mentor Network

Sessions feature a rotating group of experienced investors, corporate venture representatives, and industry mentors who provide feedback and guidance. Participation varies by session and availability.

How to Get Involved

Request an Invite (Founders & Teams)

If you meet the eligibility criteria and want to present at a future session, request an invitation by emailing tchatte@central.uh.edu or the program inbox ottitb@central.uh.edu. Please include a 1‑page overview and your top 3 questions for investors.

Refer a Team (Faculty & Staff)

UH faculty/staff may nominate promising research teams or founders for upcoming cohorts and sessions.

Participate as an Investor or Mentor

Interested investors and operators can join the feedback roundtable on a session‑by‑session basis (invite-only). Contact the program to discuss fit and availability.
