The School of Theatre & Dance at the University of Houston offers undergraduate and graduate programs that prepare students for careers in the performing arts. Through hands-on training, industry mentorship, and real-world experience, students gain the skills to succeed on stage, behind the scenes, and beyond.

At the undergraduate level, students pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with concentrations in Acting, Dance, Playwriting & Dramaturgy, Production & Design, Stage Management, and Theatre Education. Each concentration emphasizes artistic development, practical training, and collaboration with guest artists.

At the graduate level, the School offers a Master of Arts in Theatre, including a Summer M.A. for Theatre Educators,

as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre with concentrations in Acting and Design/Technology, with specialized study in Costume, Scenic, and Lighting Design/Technology, Technical Direction, and Costume Technology. These programs blend academic study with professional application to prepare students for advanced careers in the field.
