Education
The Digital Humanities Core offers a Micro-credential in the Digital Humanities, designed for faculty, librarians, researchers and students to gain expertise in digital project development. The program features three tracks:
- Faculty and doctoral student track
- Graduate student track
- Undergraduate student track
Instruction is delivered through the HPE Data Science Institute's Moodle system, combining globalized content with personalized consultations. The program is available at no cost to the UH community, with varying time commitments based on the chosen track.
Current Offerings
The Digital Humanities Core’s 2026 summer programs offer excellent opportunities to build foundational skills in Digital Humanities production and scholarship in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Researcher Workshop: Foundations of Digital Humanities
- Two-week virtual workshop designed specifically for researchers
- Learn how to develop a phased, intentional approach to digital and multi-modal scholarship
- Dates: June 1 – 13, 9:30 a.m. – noon (daily)
- Cost: Free for eligible UH community members
- Application Form: Register by Friday, May 1
Foundations in DH Project Development
- Dates: June 15 – 26
- Open to graduate and undergraduate students across the UH System (UH Main, UHD, UHCL)
- Undergraduate courses: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- Graduate course (new this year): 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
- Application Form: Register by Friday, May 15
Textual Recovery Course
- Dates: July 6 – 10, 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- Open to both faculty and students
- Faculty Registration: Register by Friday, May 1
- Student Registration: Register by Friday, May 15
