The UHin4 First-Year Academic Support Plan (FY‑ASP) is a short, supportive process designed to help you build meaningful academic momentum. FY‑ASP helps you map your next steps, connect with helpful campus resources, and stay on track toward graduation.

You are not alone. Many Coogs participate in FY‑ASP each year to refocus, explore new strategies, and continue growing. Your goals matter to us, and we’re here to support you.

By the Numbers: What FY-ASP Has Meant for Past UHin4 Students  

What You Need to Do 

Step one: Register for a FY-ASP Presentation with LAUNCH 

During an in-person session (45mins) you'll receive a quick introduction to LAUNCH and eight research‑based habits that help UH students raise their GPA and feel more in control of their semester. You’ll learn these in your LAUNCH session and talk through how to use them with your PAL.

Step 2: Meet with a Peer Assistant Leader (PAL)

You will meet with a PAL twice this semester. Your PAL will offer personalized guidance and support, drawing from their own experiences in overcoming and navigating similar challenges. They will reach out to you to schedule your first meeting, whether in-person or online. However, you don't have to wait for them to contact you. 

That's it - two steps! PALs will help you take what you learn in the session and turn it into a plan you feel confident in.

What Happens After You Complete Both Steps?

 You’ll walk away with:

• A personalized academic plan you created with your PAL
• Clear study and time‑management strategies
• A better sense of your strengths and how to build from them
• A support team you can return to anytime

Your success is a team effort and you’re not doing this alone.

• Career Services: Meet with a Career Development Specialists to help you with major and/or career exploration.
• Counseling Services: If you are feeling overwhelmed or just need some advice, our free, confidential mental health counseling services are here to support your emotional well-being.
