Westlaw Training and CLE

  • Location: Online
Continuing Legal Education class that will focus on the Westlaw Database. This class will go more in-depth into using the database for legal research including case law, statute, and form searching. These classes will be taught by a representative from Thomson Reuters. CLE credit will be given to those attorneys in attendance. Topic is TBD. Class is Virtual.
Dance of the Cosmos

Dance of the Cosmos celebrates the powerful imagery of Shiva, the Cosmic Dancer in Indian mythology, through four different Indian classical dance forms – grounded Bharatanatyam, fluid Odissi, dramatic Kuchipudi, and dynamic Kathak – which intertwine to represent the dance of destruction and of creation, the duality of man and woman, and each of the five elements (air, earth, water, fire, and ether) that are encompassed within Shiva’s being.

IMpowered Voices: A Unity Concert 2022

A virtual concert that will be streamed on Interfaith Ministries’ social media, including Facebook and YouTube, and is free to the public. This year’s top line-up of local artists and partner organizations includes Teofilo Bijarro (BlindTeo), The Ensemble Theatre, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony and Rev. Vascola Stoney.

A Philippine national holiday in the Republic of the Philippines to commemorate the country's declaration of independence from Spain in 1898.

Attorney Lecture Series and CLE - From Private Practice to Public Defender

Attorney Rebekah Kratochvil will speak about working in private practice as a criminal defense attorney and now working in the bail hearing division of the Harris County Public Defenders office. She will give some tips and information for new attorneys. CLE credit will be available for those in attendance.

Juneteenth
  • Location: United States of America
Juneteenth National Independence Day is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans after the Civil War. Early celebrations began locally in 1866 and spread throughout the country until it was made a federal holiday in 2021. It is also known as Jubilee Day, Emancipation Day and Black Independence Day.
Juneteenth: The Journey To Freedom
  • Time: 8:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
  • Location: Online
A brilliant performance filled with dramatic visuals, live music, narrations, and dance that tells the story of African Americans from 1865 to today and their journey to the celebration of freedom. Live on stage at the Miller Outdoor Theatre and online.

The Houston Latin American Chamber Orchestra proudly presents ROMANCE, a concert full of romantic Latin American music and dance. Led by maestro Glenn Garrido, the Houston Latin Chamber Orchestra is comprised of 16 musicians of the highest caliber from the Houston Latin American Philharmonic Orchestra, performing rhythms like Tango, Danzón, Ranchera, Cha-Cha-Cha, Bachata, Bolero, and much more music that makes you feel the excitement of love and romance!
