We’re sending summer out with a bang! Come join in on the fun with free water slides, DJ, a hula hoop contest, toddler town for ages 5 and under, and other fun summer activities. The event benefits the Fort Bend Rainbow Room and visitors are encouraged to bring a back pack and school supplies donations.

The discussion will cover online resources such as Ancestry.com and FamilySearch databases along with information available on microfilm and in print. Also covered will be basic forms and how to fill them out and organize your research.

Women's Equality Day
  • Location: United States of America
Annual holiday to commemorate the signing of the proclamation in 1920 granting American women the constitutional right to vote. First celebrated in 1971, Congress designated the holiday in 1973.

La Zarzuela Viva
  • Time: 8:15 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
  • Location: Online
The award-winning Texas Medical Center Orchestra will perform La Zarzuela Vive, a Spanish lyric-dramatic genre incorporating operatic themes. This style originated in the baroque period in Spain and has been adopted in regions where Spain has wielded influence, particularly Cuba, Mexico, and the Philippines. This performance will feature two guest vocalists, and our hope is to wow audience members with a performance of a wonderful music tradition. Led by Artistic Director Libi Lebel, the orchestra will be joined by the International Voices Houston choir and feature Ricardo Garcia and Carmenchú Domínguez as soloists. A live perform at the Miller Outdoor Theatre that will also be live streamed.

Cultural Taste of Houston

Cultural Taste of Houston is a food festival that is part of Weeks of Welcome. We invite local cultural restaurants from all over the greater Houston area to campus, to showcase their most popular and tasty menu items. Because of our partnerships, attendees are able to experience the many flavors of Houston and enjoy a delicious and good-sized meal at a very low cost! Come enjoy pop-up shops, live performances, and food samples from Houston's best restaurants!
