2026-26 lecture series: In-forming

In-Forming approaches design as a process of inquiry, interpretation, and intervention. The title brings together the acts of forming and informing: giving shape to the world while also producing ways of seeing, knowing, and acting within changing conditions. The theme suggests a practice continually shaped by the complex realities it seeks to understand and transform.
At a moment of overlapping pressures and uncertain futures, this year’s lecture and exhibition series creates space to reflect on work that moves within conditions already in motion. Across the program, participants will consider how design moves between observation and action, speculation and responsibility, critique and care.

Together, these voices and projects open a conversation on how designers engage uncertainty and complexity while remaining attentive to the relations and consequences through which their work operates.
