New On Board: Kirksey Executive Justin Winchester

Member’s collegiate experience brings value to advancing Hines College goals

The University of Houston Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design is dedicated to bridging the gap between academia and industry to prepare students for their professional careers. With the help of the College’s Leadership Council, a group of alumni and industry leaders in architecture, design, real estate, and construction, the Hines College has achieved milestones contributing to student success. As the College continues to move toward its goal of opening an advanced technologies fabrication facility, Justin Winchester joins the Leadership Council. Winchester previously worked on the design of the building housing this future lab, and he brings respected experience working in industry collegiate practice.

With over two decades of experience serving higher education institutions across Texas, Justin Winchester delivers projects that balance design excellence with long-term academic vision. Leveraging a collaborative, hands-on leadership approach, he has led diverse initiatives, from university master planning and stadium construction to medical education facilities, ensuring that programs closely align with institutional strategy. Justin is known for his deep understanding of university operations, including facilities groups, user needs, and administration, and also for consistently guiding complex projects to successful, on-time, and on-budget completion. Valued by clients for his attention to detail, responsiveness, and reliability, he excels at creating high-performing, meaningful spaces that function both seamlessly and embody the identity and aspirations of the institutions they serve.
