Certificate in Quantitative Economics

Requirements

A Certificate in Quantitative Economics is available to students who complement their Economics major by completing certain quantitative skill courses.

A departmental certificate will be issued once completed.

CQE is not a declared item and will not appear on your transcript, but you can (and should!) add it to your resume.

To earn the certificate, you must earn a B or better in the following courses:

1. Econ 3370 - Introduction to Econometrics
2. One of the following courses:
   1. ECON 3357 – Data Management with Economic Applications
   2. ECON 3362 – Mathematics for Economics
   3. ECON 4315 – Applied Econometrics
   4. ECON 4325 – Applied Time Series Analysis and Forecasting
   5. ECON 4338 – Data Mining in Economics
   6. ECON 4376 – Industrial Organization
3. And one of the following courses:
   1. ECON 4315 – Applied Econometrics
   2. ECON 4325 – Applied Time Series Analysis and Forecasting
   3. ECON 4338 – Data Mining in Economics
   4. ECON 4376 – Industrial Organization

Submit the Certificate Application to the Undergraduate Program Director, Dr. Natalia Zhivan, by the end of your last semester, and your certificate will be mailed to you over the summer or the following semester.
