Dr. David McNally, NEH-Cullen Chair in History & Business in the UH Department of History, has received the ILHA Book of the Year Award for 2025!

Dr. Beatrice Falcucci (University of Florence) is a postdoctoral scholar who has won a highly competitive Marie Curie Global Fellowship supported by the European Union. This spring, she will work with Dr. Pratik Chakrabarti, and UH will act as an international partner with the University of Florence and Addis Ababa University on the project, “Looking at Italian Africa Nature, Animals and Safari.”

The 2025 Department of History Newsletter reports on the achievements of our majors and minors in History, graduate students, alumni, staff, faculty, and emeriti. You can find everything from publications to endowed fellowships in this document. Feature essays show how historians contribute to and shape our society.
