Hello, my name is James K Bonner. I am pursuing my Doctoral degree in Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston. My work experience has spanned over three industries – Restaurant Management, Finance and Retail. Currently, I work for H-E-B at the EFC (Electronic Fulfilment Center) warehouse as a truck driver. I am the chief chef and owner of Grate Kakes and a personal chef.

My educational background consists of two associate degrees in culinary pastry and culinary arts from Houston Community College. I have a bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and a master’s degree in Global Hospitality Leadership from the Conrad Hilton College.

My desire is to use my Doctoral degree to become a professor, culinary consultant, and author. I want to share recipes that I created in cookbooks and share my journey in life with people from all backgrounds.
