Dr. Dohyung Bang is an Assistant Professor at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston. His research examines micro-level decision-making and market dynamics in the hospitality and experience economy, as well as how complex tourism systems shape broader economic and societal outcomes. His work integrates advanced data analytics, computational modeling, and statistical techniques to analyze large-scale and high-resolution datasets.

Dr. Bang’s research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals in hospitality and tourism, such as International Journal of Hospitality Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, and Cornell Hospitality Quarterly. His work has also been recognized with the 2024 APacCHRIE Best Paper Award and a Best Paper Nomination at the 30th Annual Graduate Education and Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality and Tourism.

Prior to joining Hilton College, Dr. Bang spent four and a half years in data analytics-driven consulting, where he developed data-driven solutions and delivered data analytics training programs. At Purdue, he also served as a researcher at the Center for Hospitality and Retail Industries Business Analytics (CHRIBA), where he generated industry-oriented insights through research reports, seminars, and analytics projects.
