Health and Wellbeing
Campus Recreation is one of six departments that comprise the Health and Well-being portfolio within the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services. Our defining statement is to cultivate a community of care to promote and enrich the health and well-being of our students to become successful scholars and engaged global citizens. Our working definition of holistic well-being is living our best selves, individually and within our communities, by being, doing, connecting, caring, and learning.

Healthy U is a subcommittee of University of Houston’s Weeks of Welcome. Weeks of Welcome serves to welcome all students to campus through a series of events held during the first two weeks of the academic year.
The goals of Healthy U include:
- Promote a sense of belonging and connectedness to the campus and the UH community for students
- Connect students with university resources and departments that promote health and wellness
- Provide opportunities and educational programs to encourage students to take responsibility for their personal growth and development
