UH Renews Partnership with Campus Travel Management to Offer Discounted Hotel Rates for Campus Visitors

By Jesus Acevedo Jr.

The University of Houston has renewed its partnership with Campus Travel Management, continuing a program launched in 2019 that provides discounted hotel rates for campus visitors.

Through this partnership, UH visitors—including prospective students, parents, visiting faculty, and fans attending athletic events—can access discounted rates at 12 local hotels with no service fee. Participating hotels include Hotel ZaZa, several Hilton properties (including the on‑campus Hilton), The Westin, Hotel ICON, DoubleTree, and others.
Discounts typically range from 5 to 15 percent, depending on room availability. Most hotels allow reservations to be made up to one year in advance.

“There is no cost to the university for this program. The visitors book through the Campus Management site,” Matt Oltremari, Auxiliary Services Director said. “The other nice feature is Campus Travel Management offers complimentary personal customer service assistance with the bookings.”

The partnership with Campus Travel Management is overseen by Auxiliary Services, which has also partnered with Admissions and Enrollment Services to enhance and promote the service. Auxiliary Services and Admissions are further enhancing the partnership by launching two UH webpages that highlight campus experiences for visitors.

One webpage will live on the Admissions and Enrollment Services website, while another will be housed on the Auxiliary Services website. According to Oltremari, the Auxiliary Services page will highlight campus dining options—such as the RAD Center, Student Center, and residence hall dining locations—as well as parking information, where to purchase UH merchandise, and entertainment offerings including athletic events and performances at Cullen Performance Hall.

For Admissions and Enrollment Services, renewing the partnership is a must.

“Being able to have a partner that can provide affordable accommodations for folks that are coming to visit campus, many of which, for the very first time they’re visiting Houston and UH,” Chris Cheatham, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications with Enrollment Services said. “So, being able to provide and offer those prospective students and families is a huge benefit.”
