Chelsea Blake, Associate Director

The Cougar Parent & Family Engagement Center is proud to welcome Chelsea Blake as Associate Director. Chelsea brings a strong background in student engagement, program development, and equity-focused initiatives, along with a deep commitment to strengthening meaningful connections between students, families, and supporters throughout the University of Houston community.

In her role, Chelsea leads efforts to expand family engagement, strengthen communication and outreach strategies, and develop inclusive programming designed to support students and their families throughout their Cougar journey. Her work focuses on creating accessible, welcoming spaces where families feel informed, connected, and empowered to play an active role in student success.

Chelsea holds a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science from Texas Women’s University. Her professional experience reflects a consistent dedication to advancing student success and building supportive campus communities.

Prior to joining the University of Houston, Chelsea served at Rice University, where she held leadership roles supporting first-generation and limited-income student initiatives and pre-matriculation programs. Through this work, she developed impactful strategies that strengthened student belonging, increased access to resources, and supported students and their families in navigating the college experience.

Chelsea shares, “My work has always centered on building trust, increasing access to resources, and creating spaces where families feel informed, valued, and connected to their student’s success. I’m excited to continue strengthening partnerships with families and supporters as we expand initiatives that support the entire Cougar community.”

Chelsea believes the best part of higher education is celebrating milestones alongside students and their families — from move-in day to graduation — and watching them grow together throughout the journey. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, and her toy poodle, Houston, and can often be found exploring new restaurants and coffee spots around the city.

Chelsea’s leadership continues to advance the mission of the Cougar Parent & Family Engagement Center by ensuring families remain informed, engaged, and supported as vital partners in the university experience.
