Coog Cubs Closet
Free Baby & Maternity Essentials for Student Parents
The Coog Cubs Closet, coordinated by the Cougar Parent & Family Engagement Center (CPFEC), provides free baby clothing, maternity wear, and small parenting essentials to support student parents at the University of Houston.
This resource is designed to help student parents access everyday essentials while balancing the responsibilities of college and family life. Items in the closet are donated by members of the UH community and are available to student parents throughout the semester.
Our goal is simple: to ensure that every Cougar — and every cub — has what they need to thrive.
What You May Find in the Coog Cubs Closet
Items available in the closet may include:
- Baby clothing (various sizes)
- Baby shoes
- Maternity clothing
- Baby blankets and swaddles
- Small baby items and essentials
Inventory varies depending on donations and availability.
How the Closet Works
Student parents are welcome to visit the Cougar Parent & Family Engagement Center during office hours to browse the Coog Cubs Closet and take items they may need.
The closet operates on a community-sharing model, meaning items are free and available to help support student families across campus.
CPFEC staff are also available to assist students in locating specific items when possible.
Supporting the Coog Cubs Closet
The Coog Cubs Closet continues to grow thanks to the generosity of the UH community.
CPFEC gladly accepts donations of new or gently used items, including:
- Baby clothing
- Baby shoes

Building the Village
The Coog Cubs Closet is part of CPFEC's broader commitment to supporting student parents and their families. Through initiatives like the Cougar Cub Diaper Depot, Lactation Support Navigation, and the Student Parent Survival Guide, CPFEC works to ensure student parents have the resources, support, and community they need to succeed at UH.
Because every Cougar has a village.
