Summer Conferences
About Us
As part of Student Housing and Residential Life (SHRL), Conference Services coordinates overnight accommodations and meeting space reservations for summer guests. Various camps, conferences, and academic programs utilize the University of Houston facilities. Our student staff liaisons provide a welcoming environment through superior customer service for all participants.
Conference Assistants (CAs) are critical to the conference experience, providing residential support to our summer guests. General work responsibilities include facilitating the guest check-in/check-out process, staffing the residence hall front desks, room checks, and on-call shifts. We are looking for individuals committed to customer service, building leadership skills, working in a team dynamic and serving as a guest resource – a SHRL ambassador. Access & Service Managers (ASMs) work directly with professional staff to manage building, suite and bedroom access for over 8,000 guests. For those who are interested in advancement to an elevated leadership role with greater responsibilities, please consider the Access & Service Manager position.
Facilities Assistants (FAs) support both conferences and routine residence hall operations. The Facilities Assistant Program provides more technical and hands-on support for daily building operations during the summer as well as the academic year.
