Education Graduate Students Honored for Academics, Leadership & Service
The University of Houston College of Education spotlighted six students in honor of Graduate Student Appreciation Week. The honorees were nominated by faculty based on academic excellence, leadership and contributions to the College community. “Being selected made me feel that the faculty and community genuinely valued my work,” said doctoral student Xincui Zhang.
New Faculty Join UH College of Education for Fall 2026
The four assistant professors bring expertise in literacy, social studies and science education as well as public health. “I was drawn to UH because of its strong commitment to interdisciplinary research, especially in literacy, special education and community-engaged partnerships,” said incoming faculty member Albert W. Li.
New Alief ISD Academy Creates Pathway to UH Health Degree
Alief ISD students have a new opportunity to get a head start on college and careers in the fast-growing health field through a partnership with the University of Houston College of Education. The college-prep program, launching in fall 2026, will put students on a clear path from high school to UH, where they can earn a bachelor’s degree in health and prepare for in-demand careers that support healthier communities.
